For The Barcelonian

The Barcelonian is a collective illustration project that pays homage to both Barcelona and The New Yorker through the covers of an imagined magazine.

For this project, I created a fictional cover to honor José Pérez Ocaña (1947-1983), better known as Ocaña, a Spanish performer, artist, painter, and LGBT rights activist. He was known for walking along Las Ramblas in Barcelona, often dressed in drag.
